Today was all about Sparky. He field-tripped to the Giant City to the East to shop for Christmas presents at the Christkindlmarkt. He loves that--the idea is to use their German (hence class credit for shopping), and he really liked getting up later than usual (which he didn't, but that's normal). Then tonight we had two school-related meetings. We ended up splitting up and I attended the one about the ACT testing that is upcoming while the boys attended the one about the German exchange program next spring and summer.
His ACT pre-test composite is 28. The trip will cost $1850, and we are expected to host a German student for three weeks next spring in exchange for Sparky having a place to stay the following month.
So, there ya go: life starts heating up again. Whee.
In the short term, I have GOT to get the Christmas tree up one of these days. And cards...oy. Cards. sigh
