Sigh...it's another twofer day.

Yesterday was Write 30 Interesting Facts About Yourself. "Interesting" is always the stopping point here; I'll do my best to be interesting.

1. I'm an empty-nester and I'm not 50 yet.
2. I was a pleaser as a kid. I was a pleaser as a young adult. I still am, but I try to remember that sometimes I need to just say "fuck it."
3. I swear too much.
4. I’m a lifelong Presbyterian, following in my mother’s footsteps. I really do believe in the way the Presbys run things, and I absolutely believe in the whole God/Jesus/Bible stuff because it makes sense for me.
5. I spent three weeks during a January in mid-80s in the (then) Soviet Union. I also spent a week that same January in China.
6. I have 12 blogs, or blog-type sites.
7. When I was a teenager I always said that I’d never date a football player. Yeah. So I married one instead.
8. I was a DJ at my college radio station all four years I was there. I loved it.
9. I weigh 40 pounds more now than I did a week before Sparky was born. That means that 22 years ago I weighed more than 75 pounds less than I do now.
10. I'm allergic to lots of things: grasses, animals, pollen, and some foods.
11. I read a lot about early church history, exegesis, and language/translation. That's offset by all the murder mysteries and true crime I read.
12. My grandparents were born between 1875 and 1895.
13. My parents got married in 1941, months before Pearl Harbor. Their ages at marriage total up to just about 41.
14. I have relatives currently living in 5 states and 2 foreign countries.
15. My new boss's name sounds like the acronym for our library's catalog. It's rather confusing.
16. My former boss shares her first name with three of my current coworkers. Fortunately, only one of them worked there at the same time as Former Boss.
17. I have bitten my nails and cuticles for over 40 years. I don't think there's any hope of me quitting. But right now only two of the nails on my left hand are very short; the other 8 nails are long (for me).
18. My massage therapist is a steampunk-con costumed attender.
19. I've subscribed to Ms. Magazine for almost 30 years, though there were a few years there that I bailed because it started down a very weird path. It was the Good Housekeeping-type gardening article that I remember as the shark-jumping-article for me.
20. I've subscribed to Entertainment Weekly for almost 20 years. I have no idea why I love it, but I do. Smart cotton candy?
21. I'm addicted to New Tricks. I'm just finishing Season Seven. There are a lot of really stupid plotlines and the sound quality is rough, but the characters crack me up.
22. One of the hardest things about parenting for me is letting go of expectations. I'm not pleased with Sparky or myself right now. I need to get over the former, and stop berating myself.
23. I really do like kids. Little ones, middle ones and older ones (though not necessarily the hormones-out-of-control age, especially in groups).
24. I also like to travel. I'm currently in the process of trying to nail down possibilities for our anniversary (next month) and Beast's and my 50th birthdays (later in the year). So many choices!!
25. I do my own pedicures. It keeps me limber.
26. My shoulders hurt almost all the time anymore. It's amazing the level of pain one can get used to.
27. I have at least one friend who believes in Bigfoot's existence. And he's not ignorant, or uneducated. I don't get it, but there you go. There is the off-chance he's yanking everyone's chain, though.
28. One of my favorite ways to relax is a good book read in the bathtub.
29. I watch network or local nightly news less than ten times a year, usually when visiting family. I hate it.
30. I'm really bad at these kinds of lists. This one took me almost two hours to create.

Fortunately, today is easier: the topic is Your Zodiac Sign, and If You Think It Fits Your Personality. I'm a Scorpio and, using this site, it seems relatively accurate, as these things go.
